About
My name is Marvin Lee Rice II. I am 27 years old. I was the 3rd born of 4 children, and we were raised by our father and mother in Pomona California. I graduated High School from Colony High School in Ontario California and graduated with my bachelor’s in business administration from Bethel College in Newton Kansas. I now serve as a Missionary at New Jerusalem Missions in Newton Kansas.
Those are basic details. Now, I will share who I really am.
Being raised in Pomona California was great we had a great up bringing my father was a great provider and my mother created a great home for me and my siblings! We were always the Christian family on the block. My mother mentoring and ministering to the women in the neighborhood and you women. My father doing the same with the men in the neighborhood from his grill. We lived in a few different homes in my child hood. Always made friends and spent a lot of time outside like normal kids. My brother and I would play outside and were pretty close growing up my younger sister would always want to play with us. My older sister wasn’t much interested in playing outside.
As a child I was surrounded by prayer and Bible studies in our home. Pastor Richard, my Grandma, My Uncle Paul. We had so much prayer in our home that my Uncle started his Church in our living room. There was no way to escape it, I didn’t want to anyhow. I was always told that I would be a Pastor. I would just agree quietly but figured if I was it wouldn’t be until late in life, like late 30s or 40s. One day my mother heard from the Lord “feed my sheep” from this we began feeding the homeless in Pomona California from our kitchen.
Fast forward 10 years to 2013 the seed that was planted from our family feeding the homeless finally sprouted and God gave me a dream of starting a transitional living residence to serve men women and families. Shortly after God gave me that dream God led me to discover New Jerusalem Missions who were starting a feeding program for the homeless and planning to start a transitional living program. I came in on the beginning planning stage and have been serving here ever since.
